When it comes to getting pregnant naturally, everyone’s problem is different. Ideally, you would find out when your cycle is, so then you can determine the best time to have sex. However, getting pregnant with irregular periods may leave you wondering if you will ever conceive at all! And can leave you very discouraged!
See, the thing is, when you want to get pregnant naturally…it’s supposed to be natural. That means that your body was meant to get pregnant naturally. Think of it as the way God created you! So, when we talk about getting pregnant naturally, it means that anything that is irregular we want to see become regular or back to it’s natural state!
Relationship between periods and getting pregnant
Most women will have their menstrual cycle about every month. Usually the cycles land around the same time every month. Whenever you are ovulating, you are dropping an egg. That time during the month is the best time to conceive, because it’s prime time for your partner’s sperm to meet the egg. That is why it’s important to know your cycle and keep track of it!
What are irregular periods and why is it problematic?
Irregular periods happen when your period doesn’t land at the same time every month. For most women, they land about every 30 days or so. If you menstruate more than once every 21 days, or not at all in a 35 day time frame, then you are experiencing irregular periods. Sometimes it’s nice if you missed a month (who wants all than pain?)
The problem arises when you are not ovulating and this can happen if you have irregular periods. If you are not dropping any eggs then you obviously can’t get pregnant naturally. (You can check out whether or not you are ovulating with free ovulation tests online.) But, don’t worry too much you are not alone in this, as about 1/3 of women experience these random cycles.
What on earth causes these menstrual problems?
Probably the biggest culprit of period problems is an unhealthy lifestyle. Remember what I said about getting pregnant naturally…it’s natural. That means our body needs to be in the best bodily health it can be to become pregnant. Your body was designed to carry life. If you are not healthy, then your body may not be able carrying a baby. I have a theory that our bodies know whether or not we are healthy enough to carry a baby. So, watch out for these things in your life, as they can affect your pregnancy!
Stress: If you have stress in your relationship with your partner, at work, with other kids, or finances this can keep you from conception. This may sound weird, but it’s kind of a body, mind, and soul thing. They all need to work together!
As a side note, stress can be cause by friction with people, also known as unforgiveness or anger. If you are experiencing these things, they can block your ability to get pregnant, because they can become the root of a deep level of stress.
Hormonal Imbalance: You may have a hormonal imbalance. If you think you do, see a doctor and be tested, just to make sure.
Weight: Being overweight or underweight may be the cause of irregular cycles. We need to start eating good foods and exercising to get our bodies back to their natural state. By doing this, we put our bodies back into a balanced mode.
What steps can I take?
See a doctor: If you have these symptoms, it would be wise to consult your doctor first. They generally give the best advice, especially when getting pregnant with irregular periods! They can also run tests to check out your hormone levels. If they are out of whack, there are some naturally supplements you can take! They can also check out any sexual health problems…if any.
Time your cycle: Make sure you are timing your cycle. Even if you have irregular menstrual periods, knowing your body and how it works is an important step to get pregnant.
Health: Remember…eat healthy, live healthy, and relax! Making babies is supposed to be fun, so relax and hopefully the problem of getting pregnant with irregular periods will be a thing of the past!
